The City of Phoenix is asking residents for input this weekend on a project to enhance its canal thoroughfares.
The Grand Canalscape will be designed to provide a safe route for bicyclists and pedestrians away from car traffic and will help integrate the city’s canals into surrounding communities.
In the wake of the passage this week of the multi-billion transportation initiative known as Prop 104, Phoenix spokesperson Monica Hernandez said the timing couldn’t be better for the plan.
“There is definitely a connection there. What we’re going to do with the transportation plan is improve our infrastructure and take the city to the next level. As part of the plan, we are adding bike lanes and improving the condition of our roadways,” Hernandez said.
